In early years, the children are assessed against key statements and if they meet the expected standard in all these areas, they are at a Good Level of Development.
In 2019, 75% of children were at a Good Level of Development.
In year 1, children have to sit a phonics screening check to assess their ability to decode sounds and read both real and made up words.

In June 2019, teachers in year 2 completed assessments based on the children’s work and also the SATs tests that the children completed in May 2019. The key outcomes are included in the table below.
In May 2019 year 6 took the statutory tests for reading, grammar, punctuation and spelling and mathematics. These returned a scaled score, where a child who achieves a score of 100 being considered to have met the expected standard. Writing assessments were made by teaching staff rather than by test.
