Learning Outside of the Classroom

At Brinkley Grove, Learning Outside of the Classroom is a vital part of our curriculum because it…

  • nurtures creativity
  • improves achievement
  • develop independence
  • makes learning more engaging and relevant
  • motivates and inspires children
  • improves children’s attitudes to learning

The first hand experience of Learning Outside of the Classroom help to make subjects more vivid and interesting for pupils and enhance their understanding. Research has shown that “Hands on activities lead to improved outcome for pupils including better achievement, standards, motivation, personal development and behaviour” and  “Learning outdoors helps to create happier, healthier children.”

Over the past few years, we have been investing finances as well as staff training time into Opening the Door to Our Outdoor Classroom and Unleashing its’ Learning Opportunities and Potential.
